Run Helm locally

This section is for developers working with the source. To use Helm itself, follow the first-account guide.

Setup sequence

1. Install the release toolchain and dependencies.
2. Configure environment variables for a development Supabase project you are authorized to use.
3. Confirm the database schema and authentication configuration match the source revision.
4. Start local development.
5. Run the relevant checks before proposing a change.

Installing or building does not apply migrations, configure mail delivery or register an account. Treat these as explicit setup steps.

App or documentation?

The application runs on port 3016. It requires financial data services for authenticated actions. The independent documentation package runs on port 3017 and does not need a Supabase key.

For docs work, set the app link origin to your local app when testing reciprocal navigation. For application work, configure canonical origins and provider redirects consistently.

Find the owning layer

Use the project structure to locate the route, API helper and service. Preserve the API boundary for financial mutations. A source change that only fixes presentation should not introduce a database write or schema change.
