Record and correct movements
Choose the right sentence for real money movements, keep currency and date context, and recover without duplicates.
Record something after it happens. A bill, income source or savings plan describes intent; the movement records actual money.
Record a purchase or receipt
Open Activity → Add transaction and choose the sentence under What happened?
- Choose I spent for a purchase or I received for incoming money.
- Select the account that actually paid or received.
- Enter the settled amount and a useful description.
- Check the date. Recording dates use the Cairo calendar.
- Add the category and relevant context, then save.
For a fictional example, record EGP 150, Groceries, dated 5 October 2026, paid from Everyday account. If that account’s prior supported amount was EGP 2,400 and nothing else changed, it should read EGP 2,250 after the cleared purchase.
For receipts, an income source is optional. When you have sources, select the appropriate one to give the income context. Creating a source such as Salary does not itself record a receipt.
Choose the right kind of movement
| Sentence | What you supply |
|---|---|
| I spent | Paying account, actual amount and what it was for. |
| I received | Receiving account, actual amount and optional income source. |
| I transferred | Two same-currency accounts and the amount moved. |
| I paid my CC | Paying account and the credit-card account being repaid. |
| I converted | Outgoing and received accounts and both actual exchanged amounts. |
A transfer between your own accounts is not income or spending. A card repayment is not another copy of the original purchase.
The account determines settled currency. If a bank settles an original USD charge in EGP, keep the USD charge as evidence and use the actual EGP amount for the EGP account.
When saving is uncertain
If the connection fails after saving, use the offered recovery for that operation. Check Activity before starting a separate record. A lost response can mean the movement already saved; blindly creating a new one can duplicate money.
Correct a movement
Review the existing movement and use its correction action. State what was wrong, enter corrected facts, and provide a reason and date. The earlier record remains traceable. Reversal and restoration are separate deliberate actions, not silent editing.
If a correction is refused, read the explanation before retrying. Linked or changed records can need review. Advanced Activity searching, filtering and complete-history export are planned; browsing a page of movements is not a complete export.
