Understand My Situation

Read balances, debt, dates and uncertainty in your financial starting picture.

My Situation is your signed-in home. It answers where your money stands using the accounts, dated balances and movements you have supplied.

Read the groups before the total

Helm separates money you can use, things you own, money people owe you, and money you owe. A credit-card debt belongs in the picture, but it is not spendable cash. An asset or receivable also has a different role from cash in your bank account.

  1. Start with an individual account you recognize.
  2. Read its amount and currency.
  3. Read the balance basis and date: a balance you stated is different from supporting bank evidence.
  4. Then inspect a combined figure and its conversion or completeness notes.

A small example

This example is fictional. You state EGP 2,400 as of 4 October 2026 for Everyday account. You then record a cleared EGP 150 purchase dated 5 October 2026 from that account. With no other movements, the account’s expected balance is EGP 2,250 after that purchase. The answer depends on both the dated starting balance and the recorded movement.

A separate USD 100 account cannot simply be added to EGP 2,250. A combined base-currency figure needs dated conversion evidence; the original USD amount remains meaningful.

When an answer is incomplete

What you seeWhat to do
Unknown balanceAdd a dated balance you can state. Do not enter an invented zero.
Incomplete history or supportReview the account’s starting date and supporting statement or balance evidence.
Missing conversion evidenceRead the accounts separately in their own currencies until a conversion basis is available.
Unavailable answerRetry after the connection recovers; do not treat the absence as a zero balance.

Check something that looks wrong

Open account history, compare the starting basis and subsequent movements, and look for an omitted movement or duplicate. If a recorded movement is wrong, correct that movement with a reason. Changing a label does not repair an incorrect money amount.
