Review and import bank records
Preview supported bank messages and statements, give explicit recording consent, and recover or undo eligible imported work.
Imports help you bring in existing bank records. Uploading a file or seeing a preview does not itself record money. Review the source, account and results before choosing to start.
Prepare a supported source
Current supported paths include recognized bank-message layouts, QNB account XLS/XLSX, NBE text PDF, QNB single-page text card PDF, and generic CSV/XLS/XLSX with column mapping. A bank name does not mean every statement layout is supported.
The file limit is 10 MiB. Scanned or image-only PDFs, encrypted workbooks and macro-enabled workbooks are not supported. An encrypted or unreadable PDF may be refused. Keep an original copy and use a readable supported export when possible.
Preview before recording
- Open Settings → Bank messages → Import bank messages or a statement.
- Select your file or stored bank messages. Choose the appropriate sheet and mapping for tabular files.
- Match the intended account, its currency and the purpose of the source.
- Generate the preview and inspect dates, descriptions, settled amounts and ambiguous rows.
- Review balance issues and any original foreign-currency evidence.
- Choose the explicit Start action only for the reviewed version you intend to record.
For a fictional example, an EGP statement containing a EGP 150 grocery purchase dated 5 October 2026 should preview against the correct EGP account. A row containing an original USD charge does not justify treating that USD amount as the settled EGP amount.
Stored bank messages are shown in pages of 20. Selections can span pages; check the selection before starting.
Continue an existing job
If a request fails or the browser reloads, reopen the existing import job and review its progress. Use Continue for that job instead of uploading and recording it again. A response failure does not prove that no rows were recorded.
If the source or mapping changes, preview the changed version and give fresh consent. Earlier consent does not automatically cover new interpretations.
Cancel, undo or reprocess
- Cancel stops further processing once observed. Already committed work remains.
- Undo is available only for eligible, unchanged work belonging to that import job. It can refuse changed or linked records to preserve subsequent history.
- Reprocess is a new reviewed decision, with fresh consent; it is not an automatic repair.
Read the explanation when an action is refused. Correcting an individual recorded movement may be safer than trying to remove an entire job. See movement corrections.
Keep source files private
Bank messages and statements can contain sensitive identifiers. Review screenshots and files before sharing a problem report. Describe the format and safe error text; never publish your complete statement to get help.
