Local development

Run the app on port 3016 and documentation on port 3017 with explicit local origins.

Install the locked dependencies and configure the app’s environment first.

Start the app

At the repository root:

pnpm dev

Open http://localhost:3016/welcome. Public pages can render without a financial session. Signing in and using private financial actions require the matching database, auth provider and admission settings.

If registration is closed by your local configuration, that is a deliberate mode. Change configuration intentionally rather than bypassing admission in client code.

Start the documentation

In another terminal, from the repository root:

NEXT_PUBLIC_HELM_APP_URL=http://localhost:3016 NEXT_PUBLIC_HELM_DOCS_URL=http://localhost:3017 pnpm --dir documentation dev

Open http://localhost:3017. Explicit local origins make Open Helm and documentation metadata point to the local pair. Production defaults use the custom domains.

Review a change

Open the actual affected route and exercise the corresponding UI. For financial actions, use disposable development data and inspect both the saved result and a fresh read. For documentation, test mobile navigation, both themes and internal links.

If a private read is unavailable, inspect configuration and safe server diagnostics. An unavailable response must not be replaced by fictional money. Run quality checks before sharing the change.
